A Moment, A Memory, A Forever

We all experience loss in one form or another during our lifetime. Whether it’s the disappearance of a beloved dog, the death of a cherished loved one, or the separation from a dear partner, we have all felt that pain. Though each loss is different, there is something common to them all—Moments, Memories, and Forevers. And when those Forevers come to an end, we are left with those moments and memories, along with a deep feeling of loneliness. It is with this in mind that I decided to compile this book—a collection of poems that reflect the emotions of loss, grief, and the precious moments and memories that linger after. The authors in this anthology have poured their hearts into these words, and I hope they bring you a sense of warmth and comfort, reminding you that you are not alone. As Damon Salvatore once said, ‘Because in the end, when you lose somebody, every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing you have left is a hole in your life.’ This line perfectly captures the feelings we all carry in our hearts after loss.
